The renovation trust mark that’s earned, not bought.

Any directory can take your money and print a badge. RenoGuide Certified is different: your licence, ABN, insurance, identity and portfolio are all verified by a human — and re-checked every year. It’s the mark homeowners look for when they’re deciding who to trust with their home.

Why it exists

The biggest fear in renovating isn’t cost — it’s hiring the wrong person. The unlicensed operator. The one with no insurance when it goes wrong. The gleaming portfolio that turns out to be someone else’s work. Homeowners have no easy way to tell the real operators from the risks. Certified is how we tell them for you — by checking the things they can’t, and standing behind it.

What we verify

Every one of these is checked before you’re Certified — and re-checked every year.

Licence & registration

Verified against the official state register for your trade — the number homeowners can't check themselves, checked for them.

ABN & business identity

Confirmed on the Australian Business Register, matched to the real trading entity behind the name.

Insurance

Current public liability (and where relevant, home-warranty) cover sighted and dated.

Identity

We confirm the person running the business is who they say they are — no shelf companies, no fronts.

Portfolio review

Real photos of real completed jobs, reviewed by a human — not stock images or someone else's work.

Review quality

We read the reviews, not just count the stars — looking for genuine, consistent, recent customer sentiment.

Annual re-verification

Certified isn't a one-time tick. Every claim is re-checked each year, so the badge always means something today.

What being Certified gets you

Top of your city page

Certified businesses rank above unverified listings — homeowners see you first, at the moment they're choosing.

The trust badge

A verification mark on your card and profile. In a trade full of horror stories, verified trust is the thing that wins the job.

A premium profile

Bigger portfolio, your full story, services, service areas and the details homeowners weigh — the richest version of your listing.

First access to RenoGuide Pay

Quotes, contracts, milestones and payments in one place — Certified businesses get it first when it launches.

Confidence-based recommendations

As Explore learns each homeowner's project, Certified businesses with matching verified data get recommended — targeted, not sprayed.

Leads still free

Everything you get on the free listing — the quote requests, straight to your inbox, at no cost — stays exactly as it is.

Simple, honest pricing

$70+GST / month

To be confirmed before anyone is charged. Covers verification, annual re-checks, your premium profile and priority ranking. No lock-in, no per-lead fees — leads stay free. You can’t buy the badge; this pays for the checking behind it.

Common questions

Can I just pay to be Certified?

No — and that's the whole point. Certified is a verification you qualify for, not a badge you buy. If your licence, insurance, identity, portfolio and reviews check out, you're in. If they don't, no amount of money changes that. That's what makes the badge worth something to homeowners.

What does it cost?

We're validating pricing around $70 + GST per month. That covers the verification work, the annual re-checks, your premium profile and priority ranking. We'll confirm the exact figure before anyone is charged, and you'll always see the price before you commit.

What happens to my free listing?

It keeps everything it has now — free leads to your inbox, your owner-verified profile, the lot. Certified adds trust and ranking on top; it never takes anything away, and you're never removed for not joining.

Why should homeowners care about the badge?

Because the single biggest fear in renovating is hiring the wrong person — an unlicensed operator, no insurance, a fake portfolio. Certified means a human has checked all of that and keeps checking it. It turns 'trust me' into 'here's the proof.'

How long does verification take?

Most of it is quick once you send your details — licence, ABN and insurance are same-day checks. Portfolio and review assessment take a little longer because a person actually looks. We'll keep you posted at each step.
